1. Connect the MP3 Player to the computer.
2. Go to "My Computer."
3. Double-click on the MP3 Player (it could show up as Removable Disk or even Camnex).
4. Right-click anywhere on a blank space and select "New," followed by "Folder."
5. Re-name the newly created folder if necessary.
6. Transfer the songs from the computer to this new folder.

Q: Why doesn't the computer recognize the MP3 Player?
A1: The MP3 Player may not be compatible with your operating system. Please see this
chart for compatible operating systems with your model of MP3 Player. Please note that for Windows 2000 and XP, the operating system will automatically install the MP3 Player upon first connection and a separate driver is not required.
A2: For Windows 98 users only - Click
here to see if your MP3 Player is compatible with Windows 98.

If you installed the software CD that came with the package, then the WIN98 drivers should automatically install into your WIN98-based computer. However, if your MP3 player is still not detected, you will need to install the WIN98 drivers manually.

1. Go to “My Computer.”
2. Right-click and select “Properties.”
3. Look for the top tab heading called “General.”
4. Change that to “Device Manager.”
5. Click on the “+” button next to “Disk Drives.”
6. Look for the “USB 2.0 (HS) Flash Disk”. If you don’t see it, it may be located in “Other Devices,” not “Disk Drives” from step 5 above.
7. Right-click on “USB 2.0 (HS) Flash Disk” and select “Properties.”
8. Change the top tab heading to “Driver.”
9. Select “Update Driver.”
10. Keep clicking on “Next” or “OK” until the update is completed.
11. Wait about 30 seconds for Windows to complete the process.
12. Windows should now detect the MP3 player and has detected new hardware.
The computer should now be able to recognize the MP3 player. Go to “My Computer” and you should see a “Removable Disk” that corresponds to the MP3 player.

Q: The computer recognizes the MP3 Player but files cannot be transferred over.
A: There may be a problem with the USB connection being too dusty. Please blow into the USB connector of the MP3 player and into the USB cable. Also try a different USB port on the computer. If this still does not solve the problem, connect the MP3 Player to another computer (whenever you have a chance) to see if the problem is associated with the MP3 Player or your computer.

Q: The MP3 player is not charging.
A: Some models require the ON/OFF switch in the ON position prior to connecting the USB cable.

Q: How do I transfer audio/video/pictures/text files to the MP3 Player?
A: You do not need to use any software programs to transfer your media files from the computer to the MP3 Player. Locate your media files in your computer by opening the folder that contains these files. Once you have this folder opened, there are 3 ways to transfer your files to the MP3 Player.
1. Right-click on any file and choose “Send To”. Then select the “Removable Disk” corresponding to the MP3 by left- clicking it.
2. Simply “Drag and Drop” your files from your media folder to the “Removable Disk” corresponding to the MP3 Player. To do this, you must have both the window of the media folder and the window of the Removable Disk open.
3. Another method is “Copy and Paste.” Again you need both the window of the media folder and the window of the Removable Disk open. Right-click on any file and select “Copy.” Then right-click on the window of the Removable Disk and select “Paste.” All three methods perform the same function. All three methods allow the transfer of one file, ten files or even an entire folder.

Q: How do I format the MP3 Player?
A: A format will erase all data in the MP3 player, so please perform a backup if necessary. Follow the steps below to format your MP3 player.
1. Connect the MP3 player to the computer.
2. Go to the folder “My Computer” on your computer.
3. Right-click on the “Removable Disk” corresponding to the MP3 player.
4. Select “format.”
5. A new window opens up. Under “file system,” change FAT32 to FAT (if possible).
6. Put a checkmark on “quick format.”
7. Press the “start” button.
8. A message will be displayed warning you that all of the files will be erased. Proceed if this is okay.

Q: Only the first 10 seconds of the song is playing and then skips to the next song.
A: You have changed the settings for the "Repeat" mode to "Intro." Please change this mode back to normal in the settings.

Q: The video file does not convert properly.
A: There are just too many different video file formats available, and within each format there are also different types of files. Even the AVI file format has different types according to the codecs used such as DivX, Xvid and many others. It is not possible to have a video converter that can convert any video format to one that is compatible with the MP3 Player.

Q: How do I add games to the MP3 Player?
A: You cannot add games to the MP3 Player.

Q: How can I tell if my songs are "protected?"
A1: Simply right-click on any song and select Properties. A new window will open up showing information about the file. Change the top tab from General to Summary. Scroll down and you will see a row called Protected.

1. Double click on the USB icon located at the bottom right section of your computer screen.
2. A window should appear. Click on the Stop button.
3. Once this is done a new window should appear. Click on the OK button.
4. A new window will appear saying”This device can now be safely removed from this computer”. Click on the OK button.
5. After about 3-4 seconds you should see the battery icon appearing on the screen of your MP3 player.

Q: Why can't I play music on the MP3 Player? All I see is a "No Authority" message.
A: If you download music files from certain websites, they require SDMI eligibility. SDMI is an acronym for the Secure Digital Music Initiative. The Secure Digital Music Initiative is a means by which the International Recording Industry and Technology companies have been working together to ensure the secure transfer of digital audio content across the Internet. This initiative helps protect artists' work by enabling copyright protection in SDMI compliant formats. It is an "open" standard that manufacturer's can use to develop new portable devices.

In Future Shop’s descriptions of our products, there is a line that states: SDMI Compliant? In the case of the CM200 line of products, we have answered “No” in order to advise prospective customers that they cannot download “protected” files onto this player. (As a point of reference, the Camnex CH600 and CH660 players are SDMI compliant.)

Please note that Toshiba, Curtis, Sony, Creative Labs, Samsung, SanDisk, and Mercury – all of these companies have units for sale on FutureShop.ca that are not SDMI compliant, and will not be able to play SDMI-protected (often referred to as DRM-compatible) songs that have been downloaded from the internet.

The fact of the matter is that there are many, many sites that you can visit to download songs on the internet and play them on your Camnex CM200 player.

Q: The MP3 Player shows "No File" even though I have transferred many songs to the unit.
A1: When you turn the MP3 Player on, it will automatically bring you to the previous mode that you entered prior to shutting down. If you were in the voice mode during your last use and because you do not have any voice recordings, the message “No File” appears. Please enter the Music Mode to see the audio files.
A2: The audio files that you transferred to the MP3 Player is not compatible with the unit. Please see this
chart to see what files are compatible.

Q: I cannot transfer any more files to the MP3 Player even though there is space available.
A: You have reached the limit of files per folder. Creating more folders on the MP3 Player will solve the problem. Click
here for instructions on how to create folders.

CH600, CH660

Q: How do you install the firmware upgrades?
A: Please make sure that you follow the steps below after downloading the software updates on your PC (personal computer):

1. Unzip the HD206C file on your PC by double clicking on it;
2. Run "HD206C setup.exe" on your PC by double clicking on it;
3. Use USB cable to connect the PC and the CH600 MP3 player, wait for a few seconds, PC will recognize the MP3 player;
4. Press "Setup" button, wait for a few seconds, the PC will tell you "OS is right!" or "System Setup Success!," then firmware upgrade is finished.

If you have WINZIP on your PC, you should be able to use WINZIP to unzip (uncompress or extract) the "HD206C…" file. Right click on the "HD206C… " file that you've downloaded on your PC, and select 'open with WINZIP', or 'extract files'. Once you do that, you should see a separate folder called "HD206C…” you'll then need to open that folder and double click on the "HD206C Setup" application file. After that, use USB cable to connect the PC and the CH600 MP3 player, wait for a few seconds, PC will recognize the MP3 player. Lastly, press "Setup" button, wait for a few seconds, the PC will tell you "OS is right!" or "System Setup Success!," then firmware upgrade is finished.

Q: What is the purpose of having the playlists?
A: The current playlist (before upgrading) does have a limit of about 200 songs because it is meant for users to keep updating it (deleting songs and adding them back to the playlist). Download the “10 Playlists” file and install the firmware upgrade using the instructions in the above step. Now you should have 10 playlists in total with about 100 songs (and more songs for WMA files) in each playlist.

Q: I only see 20GB for the CH660-40GB.
A: The CH660 unit has two hard drives. At the main menu of the MP3 Player, go to Disk Explorer, then press "Menu." Find "Hard Drive C:" or "Hard Drive D:" and press the Right button on the unit. You will be able to choose either C: or D: (each one has about 20 GB).
